16 Years of the Fotograf Zone Festival

How Not to Lose Your Soul
A Shared Look Back, Moderated by Jiří Ptáček

Let’s bring back the shared memories of an incredible sixteen editions of the Fotograf Festival, born behind the window bars of a tiny room on Školská Street and since evolved into Prague’s largest regular photography event. Together with eyewitness Jiří Ptáček, we’ll press the shutter sixteen times, take a cleansing bath in memory, and, during the final ironing, try to figure out how not to lose our souls in the process.

Sixteen editions of the festival, fifty issues of the magazine and almost a quarter of a century of Fotograf Zone give us plenty of material to look back on. Especially now that we have decided not to keep certain things alive at any cost. There will be no festival next year, and the printed edition of magazine is also coming to an end. So it is time to revisit our shared memories, remember the people and moments without which Fotograf would not be what it is, and finally turn our attention to what comes after this chapter.
