Azolla Collective – Asphalt Lovers
Performance unfolds in an asphalt landscape inhabited by hybrid bodies. An abandoned urban environment becomes a site of encounter, a temporary nest, where three beings navigate loneliness, frustration, and collapse while searching for forms of belonging. Through embodied perception, openness, and entangled relations with more-than-human entities, they seek ways to co-create, share and co-inhabit the world together.
Azolla Collective centers its work on creating performances and artistic interventions that emerge from urban landscapes. As the seemingly small aquatic fern Azolla, we are gently caring for other organisms while proposing moments of encounters and mutual listening. We cherish collaboration, nurturing connections across species and places. Artistic research, body practices and improvisation anchor our work, in engagement with the materiality of the sculptural processes. Azolla Collective was founded in 2025 through the collaboration of performers Lucie Vrbíková and Adina Voldrábová.
