Adam Holý
Adam Holý (1974–2016) was a well-known Czech photographer working across fashion, advertising, portraiture, and his own artistic practice. His photographs are known for combining intimate sensuality with strong expression and a raw visual style. He worked with leading fashion magazines and created photographs for film posters, including Želary and Pelíšky. His work ranged from studio portraits to spontaneous snapshots. In the later years of his career, he became increasingly interested in landscape and social themes. He died ten years ago, and his archive is now managed by his brother, David Holý.
Afterglow
Afterglow is organised by Polansky Gallery in collaboration with Fotograf Contemporary. For the exhibition, artist Roman Štětina has created a video based on Holý’s landscape photomontages. The photographs come from the archive of David Holý. The exhibition is curated by David Korecký, Director of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Prague.
