What is Fotograf Zone Festival?
It is an international festival of contemporary art taking place in various cultural institutions in Prague. Its 15th edition in 2025 is entitled Talk Together and it focuses on language as a tool that shapes our identity, relationships, and power structures. The program includes exhibitions, performances, artist talks and much more.
Where is Fotograf Zone Festival taking place?
The main festival location is Holešovice Market, where the festival will be launched. You can also visit three exhibitions there. Apart from that Petrohradská Kolektiv and Fotograf Zone gallery host one exhibition each, and there are two exhibiting projects taking over the public space (for example in metro Můstek).
When is the festival taking place?
The grand opening takes place on Friday, October 3. All exhibitions will then be open to visitors from Saturday, October 4 until Sunday, October 12.
Who is the festival for?
Fotograf Zone Festival is open to the public, to anyone interested in the visual art, photography and current trends in the industry.
Is the festival barrier-free?
Most of our festival venues are wheelchair accessible (except Tempo). If you need detailed information about specific spaces during your visit, please don’t hesitate to contact us in advance.
How much is the admission fee?
Entrance to all exhibitions is free of charge – come as you are!
The recommended admission fee is 100 CZK.
Is the program kids friendly?
Yes, children are welcome at all exhibitions. Please note, however, that some works might contain complex or sensitive topics, so we recommend parental guidance.
Can I come with a dog?
Dogs on a leash are welcome at all festival venues. Please respect the space and be considerate of other visitors.
Who is among the exhibiting artists?
All exhibitions of this year’s festival include a number of artists from all over the world. Therefore you can explore the works of more than 50 artists and also meet a lot of them in person. See the full list of artists here (link).
Who are the FUTURES artists?
FUTURES is a European Photography Platform that brings together the global photography community to support and nurture the professional development of emerging artists worldwide. Since 2017, FUTURES has aimed to add long-term impact and value by empowering contemporary photographers through initiatives that promote their work and grant them access to an extensive network of professionals, markets, and audiences. Since Fotograf Zone is one of the platform’s partners, this year’s festival will host the FUTURES Annual Event for experts from all over the world and two exhibitions which emerged from the FUTURES open call.
Is the festival focused only on photography?
No, the festival focuses on visual art in general. Photography plays a big role but there are also a lot of installations, performances, videos and so on included in the program.
