Landskrona Foto & Breadfield Dummy Award 2026
Do you have a photobook project in progress but aren’t sure how to finance its production?
The Swedish photography center and international platform Landskrona Foto has announced an exciting open call offering a grant of 30,000 SEK (approx. 2,900 EUR) to cover production costs and support the full publication of a book under Breadfield Press.
Applicants are required to submit a compelling digital dummy in PDF format that clearly demonstrates a strong artistic vision and sensitivity to the photobook form.
In addition to financial support, the award includes professional mentoring, international distribution of the final publication, and a prestigious presentation during the Landskrona Foto Festival. As with many open calls, well-prepared and thoughtfully presented materials can resonate with the jury and potentially lead to future collaborations beyond the scope of the award itself.

Critics’ Choice 2026
What makes this open call particularly unique is its selection process: instead of a consensus-based decision, each of the twenty jurors independently selects their own winners.
Selected artists can receive a financial grant of 1,000 USD (approx. 950 EUR), participate in a group exhibition in London, and gain global exposure. For an additional fee, applicants can also receive valuable written feedback on their work.
Tip: Since it is enough to appeal to just one juror out of twenty, it is worth researching their professional backgrounds and submitting a project that resonates with at least one of them. This significantly increases the chances for experimental or highly specific digital practices.

Rhizome Fellowship: Pathways for Regenerative Futures
This outstanding international open call, developed in collaboration between the renowned platform Rhizome and the initiative CultureHack, is aimed at digital creators exploring the intersection of technology and ecological regeneration.
Selected participants will receive a nine-month paid fellowship, including intensive mentoring, online sessions, and an in-person residency in Costa Rica focused on developing projects that challenge established societal narratives.
Beyond financial support and expert guidance, the program offers a unique opportunity to connect with a global network of professionals across art and science.

Fotograf Magazine Open Call 2026
Don’t forget about our own open call at Fotograf Magazine.
As every spring, the open call is open to professionals, amateurs, and students alike. We accept visual projects such as photography and moving image that form a cohesive, clearly defined body of work with an independent and non-commercial character.
Two selected projects will be published in an upcoming issue of Fotograf, a magazine that ranks among the most respected international publications dedicated to contemporary photography. The selection is made by an expert jury composed of Czech and international photographers and curators.

Martin Newth – Event Horizons: A Return Without Place
Martin Newth approaches landscape as an image of a return to a place that does not exist. By photographing scenery from digital game worlds using analogue processes, he foregrounds the mediated nature of experience. This return to materiality is not a step backwards, but a way of using photography to expose the underlying conditions of our relationship to reality.

Taboo and Continuous Transformation – Chaeyeon Kang’s Winning Project
On March 26, Fotograf Zone gallery presents 28 Days, a project by Chaeyeon Kang, on view in the gallery window. The project was selected as last year’s open call winner by a jury composed of Nadia Markiewicz and Vít Havránek. Kang explores the cycles of the female body and uses digital images and organic materials to question ideas of bodily perfection. The exhibition is visible from the street at all times from March 27 to April 12, 2026.
