Maja and Reuben Fowkes – World of Art / Art and Climate Change

5. 12. 2023

The well-known duo of curators Maja and Reuben Fowkes, who have been exploring ecological art and the interest in the environment for a long time, bring a wide spectrum of contemporary artists’ reactions to the ecological crisis (some notable mentions include the Slovak scene, Oto Hudec or the APART collective). In five chapters, through the general concept of the Anthropocene, we progressively delve into the depths of planet Earth all the way to minerals, mining, and an interspecies understanding of the world, across the toxicity of waste and towards a search and listening to the voices of indigenous tribes. The book contains rich illustrations of artworks and projects in various media such as painting, photography, installations, performance, video, conceptual art, and collaborative work. World of Art / Art and Climate Change is a contemporary bible of the most burning questions of the drama of life with a simple interpretation and context, making it suitable for a wide audience.
