For more than twenty years, Fotograf has become a respected player in the field of contemporary photography. Now we are combining our main activities - magazine, gallery and festival - under one platform: the Fotograf Zone. This change is not just a new name for us, but a natural outcome of long term work, thinking and dreaming.
One of the first steps is the launch of a new website that clearly connects everything we do and brings a simple and intuitive platform where you can find everything in one place - the digital archive of the magazine, information about exhibitions, open calls and the festival programme. We worked on the new website together with the team from Blue Ghosts, who brought technological know-how and, most importantly, a passion for digital art to the project. The result is a modern online space that connects the professional and wider public, in both Czech and English versions.
Our print magazine is also changing. Starting this year, it will be published once a year as a bookmag. It brings deeper topics, longer texts, more space for art and photography, which requires time and concentration. At the same time, the online magazine on the website will provide insights from the domestic and international scene, interviews, reviews or news from current events. And what is a really big milestone for us - more than a thousand articles from the Fotograf Magazine archive are now freely available online.
We entrusted the rebranding of Fotograf Zone to studio publikum.design, who created a visual identity that reflects who we are now - an open, connected and confident platform. The new graphics are already gradually being reflected in all our outputs - website, exhibitions and festival materials.
Fotograf Zone is a place for visual culture with an edge. A platform that encourages dialogue between scenes, generations and media. We believe that something is emerging right now that has the power to reshape the future of contemporary photography. And we're glad you're there with us.

FOTOGRAF ZONE FESTIVAL 2025 – TALK TOGETHER
The fifteenth edition of the international Fotograf Zone Festival, titled TALK TOGETHER, focuses on language and interpersonal communication in its many forms. This year’s festival will be presented in a condensed ten-day format, running from 3 to 12 October 2025, and will offer audiences new perspectives on how language shapes our relationships, understanding, and conflicts.

Rencontres d’Arles 2025
The Rencontres d’Arles Festival is the world’s oldest photography festival and probably also the most visited. As its name suggests, it is an opportunity for encounters. Alongside the official program, dozens of spontaneous events, initiatives, and exhibitions emerge, both official and unofficial, transforming the town into a vibrant cultural organism. This year, I had the opportunity to experience the Rencontres d’Arles Festival through the eyes of someone who moves between their own artistic and pedagogical practice and above all as someone who believes that photography has the power not only to depict but also to shape the social context.
